My trusty printer is no longer trusty. I am getting error codeOXB39FF018 on my HP Envy 4520. Please help as my printer goes on and off like it’s haunted and prints the tops of old requests.  I am using an Apple IPad and other products to connect.

Hi @Lynne47A,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code OXB39FF018 on your HP Envy 4520 suggests a problem with the printer's internal system or firmware. Here are some steps to help resolve the issue:

1. Power Cycle the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Wait for about 60 seconds.
  3. Plug it back in and turn it on.

2. Check for Paper Jams

  • Open the printer and check for any paper jams or obstructions that might be causing the issue.

3. Update Firmware

  • Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can check this through the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP support website.

4. Reset the Printer

  • Perform a reset to restore factory settings:
    1. Go to the printer’s control panel.
    2. Navigate to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Defaults.

5. Check Ink Cartridges

  • Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and not running low. If any cartridges are old or low, consider replacing them.

6. Print a Self-Test Page

  • Use the printer's menu to print a self-test page. This can help identify if the issue is with the printer itself or the connection.

7. Reinstall the Printer

  • Remove the printer from your devices and reinstall it using the HP Smart app or directly through your device's printer settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
