Hi @Joe_Pledge79,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing errors while trying to reconnect your HP printer to the HP Smart App, please follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

  1. Ensure Printer is On and Connected:
    • Make sure your printer is powered on and physically connected to the network if using Ethernet.
    • Ensure that your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your device.

  2. Update HP Smart App:
    • Check for any available updates for the HP Smart App in the app store (Google Play Store or Apple App Store) and install them: HP Smart
    • Restart the app after updating.

  3. Restart Devices:
    • Turn off your printer, and smartphone/tablet, and then turn them back on to refresh connections.

  4. Check Network Connection:
    • Ensure your Wi-Fi connection is stable with good signal strength.
    • Reconnect to the network or try connecting to a different network to see if the issue persists.

  5. Clear Cache:
    • If you're using a smartphone or tablet, clear the cache of the HP Smart App from the device settings. This can help in resolving minor glitches.

  6. Remove and Re-add Printer:
    • On the HP Smart App, remove the printer from your account and then re-add it.
    • Navigate to the printer setup options and follow the on-screen instructions to reconnect the printer.

  7. Consult Error Code:
    • If there's a specific error code displayed, it can provide more insight into the problem. Refer to the HP Support website for guidance related to the error code.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
