Printer error on HP Laserjet 283 after each print job or prints blank sheet. On a different Computer, I was able to print but the error comes up right after it prints onthe Printer Screen. Have upgraded Firmware, unplugged, tried different power cords, taken it off the Surge protector. Or if you try to print a config or supplies report, it immediately gives the Printer Error message. Whats funny is that the warranty expired 1 week ago.

Hi @bstairs23 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw is experiencing a frustrating issue, especially since it began right after the warranty expired. The printer error you’re encountering—either immediately after a print job or while attempting to print configuration reports—could be caused by several factors.
Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
- Power Cycle the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the wall, wait for at least 30 seconds, and then plug it back in and power it on. This can sometimes clear temporary errors.
- Check Connections: If you're using a surge protector, try connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure all connections (USB or network) are secure, or disconnect them temporarily to see if the error persists when the printer is isolated.
- Delete Print Jobs: Ensure there are no stalled print jobs in the queue from any connected devices. Clear the print queue from all computers linked to the printer and try sending a simple test job.
- Factory Reset: If the problem continues, performing a factory reset on the printer may help. You can usually find this option in the printer's menu under 'Settings' or 'Service'. This process will restore the printer to its original settings, so be sure to document any necessary configurations beforehand.
- Firmware Update: You mentioned that you have upgraded the firmware. Double-check that you have the latest version, as sometimes an update can resolve underlying issues that cause errors.
