Hi @Delta031,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When your HP printer indicates it’s out of paper despite having paper loaded, it can be frustrating. Here are some additional troubleshooting steps you can try.

Check Paper Loading:

  • Ensure that the paper is loaded correctly in the tray. The paper should be under the paper guides without being too tight or too loose.
  • Make sure the paper is the right size for the printer and not damaged or curled.

Inspect the Paper Sensor:

  • Dust or debris can block the paper sensor. Open the printer and gently clean the area around the paper feed with a soft cloth. Look for a small lever or sensor that might be obstructed.

Check for Jams:

  • Even if the printer isn’t displaying a jam error, there might be small bits of paper stuck in the printer. Carefully check the paper path for any obstructions and remove them.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about 30 seconds. Plug it back in and turn it on. This can reset the printer’s sensors.

Update or Reinstall Drivers:

  • Ensure you have the latest printer drivers installed. Visit the HP Support website to download and install the latest drivers.

Print a Test Page:

  • Sometimes, sending a test page can help reset the printer's functions. Go to the printer settings on your computer and select the option to print a test page.

Check Printer Settings:

  • Ensure that the printer settings on your computer are set correctly, particularly the paper size and type.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
