HP ENVY 4500 e-All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi, I recently changed broadband provider and have set up my printer to connect to the new network.  I ran a wireless network test and no problems were found.  When I send a document to print it looks like its going to print and then I get the following message

Any suggestions will be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi @SK_S,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

You’ve successfully connected your HP ENVY 4500 to your new Wi-Fi network, and the wireless test shows no issues—great progress. But that mysterious message and failure to print mean your PC and printer may still be out of sync, even though they appear connected.

Let’s fix it.

Step 1: Factory Restore:
1. Press the Wireless button to access the Wireless Status menu.
2. Press the button next to Settings to access the Wireless Settings menu.
3. Select Restore Defaults
4. Confirm selection to restore defaults.

Step 2. Use the HP Smart App (Best Option for Wireless Setup)

  1. Download or open the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store
  2. Add your HP ENVY 4500 again
  3. Follow any on-screen prompts to reconnect or confirm the network

Step 3. Check Print Queue and Driver

  1. In Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click your printer
  2. Set as the Default printer
  3. Make sure it says “Ready” (not “Offline” or “Error”)
  4. If it still doesn’t work, go to the HP website and download the full driver package for Windows 11 (not just the basic driver)

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi @SK_S,

I'm really glad to hear that downloading the full HP driver package solved the issue! That’s often the key when basic installations don’t quite do the trick.

Don’t hesitate to reach out if you run into anything else down the line.

Take care and have a good day.
