This is the message I see when I turn ON the printer:
"Printer Failure: There is a problem with the printer or ink system. Turn printer OFF, then ON. If problem persists, contact HP."
I tried everything mentioned above but no use, opened the cartridge door and checked for debris or jam, nothing. Cartridges too unloaded and reloaded, no use.

Hi @SG1151 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are getting the "Printer Failure" error on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8610 E-All-In-One often indicates a problem with the printhead, ink system, or firmware. Since you've already tried basic troubleshooting steps like turning the printer off and on and checking for debris, there are a few additional methods that could resolve this issue:
Steps to try:
Reset the Printer:
- Unplug the printer while it’s on.
- Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the outlet and the printer.
- Turn the printer back on and check if the error persists.
Update Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- If the printer's firmware is outdated, it may cause issues like this. You can download and install the latest firmware update for your printer from the HP Support website.
- Run HP's automatic update utility to ensure the firmware is up to date.
Check the Ink Cartridges and Printhead:
- Remove the ink cartridges, then turn off the printer.
- Unplug the printer and leave it off for about 10 minutes.
- Reinsert the cartridges, plug the printer back in, and turn it on.
- If this doesn’t work, clean the printhead using the printer’s maintenance menu or manually using a lint-free cloth and distilled water.
Perform a Printhead Reset:
- With the printer on, remove the ink cartridges and printhead (if removable).
- Clean the electrical contacts on the printhead and inside the printer.
- Reinstall the printhead and cartridges, then restart the printer.
Check for Cartridge Issues:
- Ensure all cartridges are genuine HP products and properly seated. Sometimes, third-party cartridges or a faulty cartridge can trigger this error. Try replacing the problem cartridge if one is indicated.
Restore Printer to Factory Settings:
- Go to the printer settings and restore the printer to factory defaults. Be cautious, as this will erase network settings and other configurations.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
