HP ENVY 6455e All-in-One Printer

My printer has ink, prints status report, makes noise like it's printing when I try to print from my computer or make a copy, but paper comes out absolutely blank, with no ink marks on it. Please help!

Hi @La103,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

There are several potential reasons why your printer is producing blank pages despite having ink and making printing noises. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to diagnose and fix the problem:

Check the Ink Cartridges:

  • Ensure the ink cartridges are properly installed and not empty or clogged.
  • Remove the cartridges and check for any protective tape that might not have been removed.
  • Clean the cartridges and the contacts with a lint-free cloth.

Run a Printer Head Cleaning Cycle:

  • Most printers have a utility to clean the print head. Check your printer’s manual or settings menu for instructions on how to run this cycle.

Print a Test Page:

  • Print a test page directly from the printer’s control panel. This helps determine if the issue is with the printer itself or the connection with your computer.
  • If the test page is also blank, the problem is likely with the printer hardware.

Check Printer Settings:

  • Ensure that the print settings are correct on your computer. Sometimes, selecting the wrong paper type or print quality can cause issues.
  • Make sure you are printing to the correct printer if you have multiple printers installed.

Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Outdated or corrupt printer drivers can cause printing issues. Visit the printer HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your model.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Sometimes, a small piece of paper can be stuck inside the printer, causing problems with the print job. Inspect the paper path and remove any obstructions.

Check Ink Levels and Alignment:

  • Even though you mentioned the printer has ink, double-check the ink levels through the printer’s software.
  • Align the print heads if your printer has an alignment utility.

Firmware Update:

  • Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. Firmware updates can fix known issues.

Reset the Printer:

  • Power off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a minute, and then plug it back in and power it on.

Inspect the Print Head:

  • If the print head is clogged or damaged, it might need to be cleaned or replaced. Refer to

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
