Why do ALL the print heads in OfficeJet Pro printers go "bad" after a couple of years?  I have at least three HP printers sitting in garage with bad print heads.  AND/OR why can't you get new replacement print heads that aren't more expensive than the freaking print costs in the first place????

Inquiring minds want to know!!!!

I have not had the same experience, and would say the suggestion that "ALL the print heads in Officejet Pro printers go bad after a couple years" is not true.  I have an HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus I have used daily since 2013 and it is still going strong with no printhead issues.

One of the reasons the printheads are relatively expensive is that the replacement printheads include a complete set of four setup cartridges, which would cost ~$100 if purchased separately.
