Hi @MikeJava,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand its frustrating when your printer suddenly stops responding. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
- Check Connection: Make sure the printer is properly connected to your computer. Ensure that the USB or network cable is securely plugged in. If you're using a wireless connection, ensure that the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.
- Printer Status: Check the printer's display panel for any error messages or warnings. This could give you clues about what might be wrong. Make sure there are no paper jams, low ink/toner, or other issues indicated.
- Restart Devices: Since you've already restarted both the printer and the computer, try doing a power cycle. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on again.
- Check Print Queue: Sometimes, print jobs can get stuck in the print queue. Open the print queue on your computer and check if there are any pending jobs. Try cancelling all the jobs and then resend a test print.
- Update Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Sometimes outdated drivers can cause communication issues between the printer and the computer. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website. HP OfficeJet Pro 8025 All-in-One Printer
- Firewall/Antivirus Settings: Sometimes, firewall or antivirus software can block communication with the printer. Temporarily disable any firewall or antivirus software on your computer and see if the printer responds.
- Reset Printer: As a last resort, you can try resetting the printer to its factory settings. Refer to the printer's user manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
