Hi @Agtirey,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP DeskJet 2862e is showing an error state and you’re unable to print. Let’s go through a few steps to troubleshoot this.

1. Power Cycle the Printer

Turn off the printer and unplug it from the wall.

Wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in and power on.

Check if the error state clears.

2. Check Printer Status on Computer

On Windows: Settings → Bluetooth & Devices → Printers & Scanners → HP DeskJet 2862e → Open queue.

Make sure “Use Printer Offline” is unchecked.

Clear any stuck print jobs.

3. Inspect Ink Cartridges

Open the printer and remove the cartridges.

Check for protective tape, proper seating, or any visible damage.

Reinsert firmly until they click into place.

4. Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions

Open all access panels and inspect for jammed paper or small debris.

Ensure the carriage can move freely.

5. Update Drivers and Firmware

Go to HP Support and download the latest drivers and firmware for DeskJet 2862e.

Install the full-feature software package to ensure proper communication between laptop and printer.

6. Reset the Printer

With the printer powered on, press and hold the Power button for 10–15 seconds until it restarts.

This can clear temporary errors.

7. Check Connectivity

If using USB, ensure the cable is securely connected.

If using Wi-Fi, make sure both the printer and the computer are on the same network.

I hope this helps.
