To troubleshoot the issue with your HP Color Laser MFP 179fnw where the printer is unavailable and not receiving print orders, follow these steps:

Check Printer Connection

  1. Ensure Printer is On and Ready: Make sure the printer is powered on and there are no error messages on the display.
  2. Check Connections:
    • If using a USB cable, ensure it is securely connected to both the printer and the computer.
    • If using WiFi, make sure the printer is connected to your network.
    • If using Ethernet, ensure the cable is securely connected to both the printer and the router.

Print a Test Page:

  • Click on Print Test Page.

Network Issues

  1. Reset Network Settings:
    • On the printer’s control panel, navigate to Network Settings and reset the network settings.
  2. Reconnect to Network:

    • Ensure your computer is on the same network as your printer.

Printer Troubleshooter

  • Run the built-in Windows Printer Troubleshooter:
    • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
    • Select Printer and run the troubleshooter.
