How do I fix?
Why and What
==========================
"Why"
Printer error messages like this one generally indicate the printer is in a state that prevents the printer from accepting a job request.
The message description is vague because the printer is unable to determine the exact reason for the problem.
The Why is important when the What (that causes the error) can provide a hint about the source of the problem.

Yeah, but "Why" -
Incomplete diagnosis
==========================
What to do?
If you have not done so, start with the basics --
- Restart the printer
- If you can stand it, restart your iPad and iPhone.
- Make sure the printer and the device used to send the job are on the same network
Next
If connection issues continue, help the printer stay on the network --
- Make sure the printer is assigned a manual / static IP address
- If your router supports it, create a separate SSID named network for each Frequency
and
- Connect the printer to the SSID named network for 2.4GHz
What else?
Check / Update >> Every device (computer(s) and / or mobile) where HP Smart is installed should be running the latest version of the HP Smart application available for that device platform (Operating System / Version).
Repeat -
If you have a Windows computer, make sure that the latest version of HP Smart is installed.
What? There were two updates in June - the first resulted in trouble for some users -- the second fixed the issue. A printer Restart is necessary after the new version is installed.
