Hi @teerel,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When your HP printer switches to offline mode after sending a print job, it can be frustrating. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.

Check Printer Connections:

  • Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your computer or network. Check all cables and connections, including USB or Ethernet cables, and make sure they are securely plugged in.
  • If you're using a wireless connection, ensure that your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.

Restart Printer and Computer:

  • Turn off your printer and computer, and then turn them back on after a few minutes. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues.

Check Printer Status:

  • On your computer, go to Control Panel (Windows) or System Preferences (Mac) and navigate to Devices and Printers (Windows) or Printers & Scanners (Mac).
  • Check the status of your printer. If it's still showing as offline, try selecting the option to bring it back online (often right-clicking on the printer icon will give you this option in Windows).

Clear Print Queue:

  • Sometimes, a stuck print job can cause the printer to go offline. Open the print queue on your computer and cancel any pending print jobs. Then try printing again.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Outdated or corrupt printer drivers can cause communication issues between your computer and printer. Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your HP printer. You can download them from the HP website.

Check Printer Settings:

  • Access your printer's settings either through the control panel on the printer itself or via its web interface (if available). Make sure there are no errors or issues reported in the printer's settings.

Reset Printer:

  • If none of the above steps work, you may need to reset your printer to its factory settings. Refer to your printer's user manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.

By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot why your HP printer is switching to offline mode and hopefully resolve the issue.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
