there is a problem with the printer or ink system. 

 

I have turned it off and did the hard restart as others have done and that hasn't fixed the problem.

Sorry to hear your HP 6700 all-in-one is giving you trouble with the ink system — that can be so frustrating. Since the hard restart didn’t clear the error, let’s try a couple of quick things:

 

Open the printer cover and check if the ink cartridges are seated properly — sometimes they shift a bit and the printer senses an issue.

Gently remove and reinsert the cartridges, making sure they click in place.

Look for any dried ink or debris around the cartridge contacts — a soft, lint-free cloth can help clean them carefully.
