Hi @David6310,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP Deskjet F4272 printer is experiencing issues with printing and is displaying an error message regarding the print queue. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem.

Check Printer Connection: Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If it's a USB connection, try unplugging and re-plugging the USB cable. If it's a network printer, make sure it's connected to the same network as your computer.

Restart Printer and Computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary glitches. Turn off both the printer and your computer, wait for a few minutes, and then turn them back on.

Clear Print Queue: Open the print queue on your computer and cancel all pending print jobs. Sometimes, a stuck print job can prevent new ones from printing. To clear the print queue:

  • On Windows: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click on your printer, and select "See what's printing." Cancel all pending print jobs from the print queue window.
  • On macOS: Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and click on the "Open Print Queue" button. Cancel all print jobs from the print queue window.

Check Printer Status Lights: Look at the status lights on the printer to see if there are any error indicators. Refer to the printer's manual to interpret these indicators and troubleshoot accordingly.

Update Printer Drivers: Make sure you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause printing problems. Visit the HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your printer model.

Run Printer Troubleshooter: Both Windows and macOS have built-in printer troubleshooters that can help identify and fix common printing problems. You can find these troubleshooters in the respective operating system's settings or control panel.

Reset the Printer: If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting the printer to its factory defaults. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
