Hello,
I just bought the OfficeJet Pro 9120e, but the spring keeps ejecting the blue and red cartridges (please see the attached video). The ink is the original ink that came with the printer (literally in the same box), so it's not a combability problem. Customer support through chat is useless, they keep telling me to contact the store since they can't ship cartridges , even though I told them that it's not a cartridge problem, but a problem with the spring. Can someone here tell me how to fix the spring, or how to continue the software set-up without all colors (I only need black anyway)? [Content Removed]
Thank you to anyone who's able to help!

Hi @mojabaka
Welcome to the HP support community.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.
It sounds frustrating to deal with cartridge ejection issues, especially with a new printer. Here are a few steps you can try to address the problem with the OfficeJet Pro 9120e:
Reinsert Cartridges: Make sure the cartridges are properly seated. Sometimes, they may appear to be installed correctly but aren’t fully clicked into place. Remove and reinsert each cartridge, ensuring they click securely.
Inspect for Obstructions: Check the cartridge slots for any debris or obstructions that might be preventing the cartridges from seating correctly. A small piece of tape or packaging material could be causing the issue.
Check the Spring Mechanism: If the spring mechanism is visibly damaged or malfunctioning, it may need to be adjusted or replaced. Unfortunately, this can be tricky without technical expertise. If you're comfortable doing so, you might carefully examine the spring to see if it's out of place or broken.
Use Only Black Cartridge: If you want to proceed with the setup using only the black cartridge, you can try bypassing the color cartridges:
- Go to the printer settings in the software during setup and look for an option to allow printing with only the black cartridge. This option can vary by model, so it may not be available.
Firmware Update: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, issues like these can be resolved with a software update.
Contact HP Support Again: If these steps don’t resolve the issue, try contacting HP support again and ask to speak with a technician who specializes in hardware issues. Explain the situation clearly and mention the troubleshooting steps you’ve already tried.
Consider Replacement: If the printer is still under warranty and the problem persists, you may want to discuss a replacement with the store or HP. Given that it’s a new purchase, they may be able to offer a solution.
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
