HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One Printer

I have had this printer for years. Lately when I send something to print on the app it says it is connected and tells me the print job was sent but the printer does not respond. Today I tried sending an email and the printer did nothing with that as well. I’ve checked the printer and it says it’s connected and there is nothing in its queue. Not really sure what else to try.

Hi @Hammers13,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 isn't responding to print commands from the app or email, but shows as connected and has no jobs in its queue, you can try the following troubleshooting steps.

  • Restart Devices: Power off the printer, your router, and your computer or mobile device. Wait a few minutes, then turn them back on.
  • Check Network Connection: Ensure that your printer is connected to the same network as your computer or mobile device. You can print a network configuration page from the printer’s control panel to verify its network settings.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Check for any available firmware updates for your printer. Outdated firmware can sometimes cause connectivity issues.
  • Reinstall Printer Software: On your computer or mobile device, uninstall and then reinstall the HP Smart app or any other software you use to print. Sometimes a fresh installation can resolve communication issues.
  • Reset Network Settings: If you're using Wi-Fi, try resetting the printer’s network settings and reconnecting it to your network. This can resolve issues related to network connectivity.
  • Check Email Settings: If you're printing via email, make sure the email address registered with the printer is correct and that there are no issues with your email service.
  • Verify Printer Settings: Access the printer's settings through the control panel or web interface and ensure that it is set up correctly for receiving print jobs from your devices.
  • Clear Print Jobs: Sometimes, clearing any residual print jobs from the printer's internal queue can help. You may need to restart the printer to clear the queue.
  • Check Printer Status: Ensure that the printer is not displaying any errors or warning lights on its control panel.
  • Perform a Factory Reset: If none of the above steps work, you may need to perform a factory reset on the printer. Be aware that this will erase all settings and you'll need to set up the printer again from scratch.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
