Hi @PS_Jalore , Welcome to HP Support Community!

When the HP PageWide Pro 477dw printer's display is off and it is not printing, the issue is likely power-related or a result of a recent firmware update issue.

Initial Power Troubleshooting
First, ensure the printer has a stable power supply:
  1. Perform a Hard Reset: With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and unplug it from the wall outlet.
  2. Wait and Discharge: Wait for at least 60 seconds. While unplugged, press and hold the power button on the printer for about 30 seconds to drain any residual charge.
  3. Reconnect Directly: Plug the power cord directly back into a working wall outlet (avoid surge protectors or extension cords, which may not supply sufficient power).
  4. Power On: Reconnect the power cord to the back of the printer. The printer should turn on automatically. If not, press the power button.
  5. Check for Lights: Observe if any lights, especially the power button or the wireless light (which should be a solid blue if connected to a network), turn on.

If the power lights still do not come on, the power supply unit may be defective.

If the Printer Powers On but the Display Remains Blank
If the printer's lights are on, but the control panel display is still blank or unresponsive, a problematic firmware update may be the cause.
You may need to perform a firmware downgrade using a USB drive:
  1. Obtain Firmware: You will need to contact HP Support to get the specific firmware file and instructions, as a recent update is a known cause for this problem.
  2. Format USB: Format a USB flash drive to FAT32.
  3. Copy File: Copy the downloaded firmware file to the empty USB drive.
  4. Enter Pre-boot Mode: With the printer turned off and unplugged, insert the USB drive into the printer's USB port.
  5. Access Menu:
    • Press and hold the power button while plugging the power cable back into the wall outlet and the printer.
    • Continue holding the power button until the Home and Back buttons light up, then release the power button.
    • Touch Home, Back, Home, Home in that specific order. A blue screen with menu options should appear.
  6. Reflash Drive: Navigate to the "Drive Reflash" option in the blue menu and select it. The printer will automatically install the older firmware.
  7. Restart and Configure: The printer will restart after the process is complete. Once it's running, you should disable automatic updates in the settings to prevent the issue from recurring.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
