Hi @JSB2615,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP DeskJet Plus 4122 is not grabbing paper at all, despite cleaning the rollers and checking for paper jams, there are several potential issues to consider. Here are some troubleshooting steps to help resolve the problem:
1. Check Paper Path and Paper Quality
- Use Proper Paper: Ensure you are using the correct type and size of paper for your printer. Refer to the printer's manual for the recommended paper specifications.
- Check Paper Condition: Make sure the paper is not curled, wrinkled, or damp. Use a fresh stack of paper if necessary.
- Adjust Paper Guides: Ensure the paper guides in the input tray are set to the correct size for the paper you are using. The paper should fit snugly but not be too tight.
- Load Paper Properly: Make sure the paper is loaded correctly and is not overfilled in the tray. The paper stack should be aligned properly with the guides.
2. Inspect and Clean Paper Feed Rollers
- Power Off the Printer: Turn off and unplug the printer.
- Locate Rollers: Open the paper tray and locate the feed rollers inside the printer. These are typically found in the paper input area.
- Clean Rollers: Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water to clean the rollers. Gently rotate the rollers as you clean them to remove any dust or residue. Avoid using excessive water.
- Inspect Rollers for Wear: Look for any signs of wear or damage on the rollers. If the rollers are worn out or damaged, they may need to be replaced.
3. Check for Obstructions
- Look for Obstructions: Check the paper path for any foreign objects or debris that could be obstructing the paper feed.
- Remove Obstructions: Carefully remove any objects that might be blocking the paper path.
- Clean Sensors: If accessible, clean the paper sensors inside the printer with a soft, dry cloth. These sensors can sometimes get dirty and cause feed issues.
4. Printer Settings and Software
- Verify Settings: Ensure that the printer settings on your computer match the type and size of paper you are using. Incorrect settings can sometimes cause feeding issues.
- Update Drivers: Ensure you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Go to the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for your printer model.
- Reinstall Drivers: If updating drivers does not resolve the issue, consider uninstalling and then reinstalling the printer drivers.
5. Perform Printer Reset
- Power Cycle: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Run Diagnostics: Check if your printer has a self-test or diagnostic feature and run it to see if it identifies any issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
