Hi @OMOLMENTORING,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP OfficeJet Pro 8028 is experiencing issues after swapping the ink cartridges. Let's try some troubleshooting steps to resolve this problem quickly.

Check Ink Cartridges Installation:

  • Ensure that the new ink cartridges are installed correctly and securely.
  • Open the printer's front panel, remove the cartridges, and reinstall them. Listen for a click indicating they are properly seated.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Sometimes, printers need a firmware update to work with new ink cartridges, especially subscription ones.
  • Go to the HP website and check for any firmware updates for your printer model. Follow the instructions to install any updates.

Printer Alignment and Cleaning:

  • Access the printer’s settings menu on the control panel.
  • Run the "Printhead Cleaning" and "Align Printhead" utilities. This can often resolve issues with new cartridges.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 1-2 minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can reset any minor issues.

HP Smart App:

  • Use the HP Smart App (if you have it installed) to diagnose and troubleshoot the printer. The app can provide specific error messages and solutions.

Check Printer Settings:

  • Ensure that the printer is set to use the correct ink cartridges. Go to the printer’s settings and look for any options related to ink cartridge management.

Subscription Ink Account:

  • Log in to your HP Instant Ink account and ensure that your subscription is active and properly linked to your printer. Sometimes, there might be an issue with the account status.

Print a Test Page:

  • Try printing a test page from the printer’s control panel or via the HP Smart App. This can help determine if the issue is with the cartridges or the printer itself.

Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Sometimes, updating or reinstalling the printer drivers on your computer can resolve issues.
  • Go to the HP website, download the latest drivers for your printer model, and reinstall them.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
