Hi @Ruby129,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your printer is not printing and you see a question mark (?) light or an indicator on the printer, it usually signifies that there is an issue that needs attention. Here’s a comprehensive troubleshooting guide to help you resolve the issue:

1. Check Printer Status

Verify Error Messages:

  • Look at the printer’s control panel or display screen for any specific error messages or codes that can provide more details about the issue.

Check the Printer’s Manual:

  • Refer to your printer’s user manual for information about the meaning of the question mark (?) light and any troubleshooting steps specific to your model.

2. Verify Printer Connections

Check Cables:

  • Ensure that the power cable is securely connected to both the printer and the electrical outlet.
  • For wired printers, check that the USB or Ethernet cable is securely connected to the printer and the computer or network.

Check Network Connection (for wireless printers):

  • Ensure the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network. You may need to reconnect the printer to the network using the printer’s control panel.

3. Restart Devices

Power Cycle Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Restart Computer:

  • Restart your computer to reset any temporary issues that might be affecting print jobs.

4. Check Printer Ink/Toner

Check Ink/Toner Levels:

  • Ensure that the printer has sufficient ink or toner. Replace any empty or low cartridges.

Reinstall Ink/Toner Cartridges:

  • Remove and reinstall the ink or toner cartridges to ensure they are properly seated.

5. Clear Printer Queue

Open Printer Queue:

  • On your computer, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers (or Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners on Windows 10/11).

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
