Printer not printing

Hi I’m suddenly having problems printing from my phone, seems to of happened last week when my phone did an update but don’t know if that’s the reason, up until a week ago print I just  had to click on the printer icon, I don’t even have to go into my hp printer app to print, now if I click on the printer icon nothing happens, I have to go into printer app but the printing is very erratic, most of the time it won’t print at all, then it might print just the very top of the document then abort, occasionally it will print normally. I’ve checked everything I can think of , turned printer off and on, reset internet , done a print report on printer which doesn’t highlight any problems, can anybody help !?🙏
