I just bought  a 9730e few days ago.  I set it up and it was printing fine with HP smart window .  Until all of a sudden, it stopped.  It was printing a 72 pages booklet and it stopped when there were 16 pages left to print.  It never started to work again.   I cleared the spooling data (it wouldn’t cancel ). I reset the machine to factory setting, reinstalled HP smart. Nothing seem to help.  Seems it stops printing booklets /A3. 

it prints all the reports and alignment pages however!   I have spent up to 20 pages of paper for printing those reports pages now.  It just wouldn’t print what i needed to print

I bought my printer 9730E a few days ago.  When i first set it up, it printed.  I test printed double sided A4 and A3 booklets.   Then, all of a sudden, as I was printing a 72 pages booklet, it stopped, leaving 12 pages without printing.  Eversince then, I could no longer print anything other than printer reports without issue.  Each time when trying to print two pages on on piece of paper, it either stop mid way as it was printing or never print at all.  HP smart shows nothings has been sent to printer.   I have reset my printer to factory default, reinstall HP smart, reset computer! tried everything and issue would resolve!!  Been three days !! Stressful!!!

(1) First check the software proper installation with HP Print Doctor for Windows:

 

(2) Then try to install the next software driver for Windows with your printer:

(3) And try again to print a small document, just to check that is working ok, after installing software drivers.
