@ALISA55 , Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the HP Printer.

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution. We hope our assistance has been helpful!

To help us get started on resolving your issue, could you please let me know the make and model of the HP printer so that I can assist you further?

However, in the mean time please follow the basic troubleshooting steps provided below.

If your printer has suddenly stopped printing documents, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some steps to help you troubleshoot and resolve the problem:

Basic Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Check Printer Status:

    • Ensure the printer is turned on and not displaying any error messages, such as paper jams or low ink/toner levels.
  2. Connection Check:

    • For wireless connections, check that your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.
    • For USB connections, make sure the cable is securely connected to both the printer and your computer.
  3. Restart Devices:

    • Turn off both your printer and computer, wait a few seconds, and then restart them to reset any temporary configurations.
  4. Print Queue:

    • Open the print queue by accessing the "Devices and Printers" section in your computer's control panel.
    • Cancel any pending print jobs and try sending a new document to print.
  5. Check for Paper Jams:

    • Examine the printer for any paper jams, and if present, carefully remove the jammed paper.
  6. Ink or Toner Levels:

    • Ensure sufficient ink or toner is available. Replace or refill if necessary.

Advanced Troubleshooting:

  1. Driver Update:

    • Ensure your printer drivers are up to date. Visit the HP support website to find and install the latest drivers for your printer model.
  2. HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  3. Check Printer Settings:

    • Ensure the printer is set as the default printer on your computer.
    • Verify that the print settings are correct for the documents you are trying to print.
  4. Check for Firmware Updates:

    • Sometimes printers stop responding due to outdated firmware. Check for any available firmware updates on the HP website.

I hope this helps!

Take care and have an amazing day!
