Hi @Kayla8015,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
If your HP OfficeJet 8015e All-In-One Printer is connected but consistently says it's busy after you send a print job, here are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Restart Devices
Restart the Printer:
- Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
Restart Your Devices:
- Restart your Mac laptop, HP laptop, and Android phone.
2. Check Printer Queue and Status
Clear Print Queue:
- On your Mac:
- Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Select your printer and click on Open Print Queue.
- Cancel all pending print jobs.
- On your HP laptop (Windows):
- Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
- Right-click your printer and select See what's printing.
- Cancel all pending print jobs.
Check Printer Status:
- Ensure the printer is not in an error state and that there are no paper jams or low ink/toner issues.
3. Update Firmware and Drivers
Update Printer Firmware:
- Visit the HP Support website and download the latest firmware for your HP OfficeJet 8015e.
- Follow the instructions to update the printer’s firmware.
Update Drivers:
- Download and install the latest printer drivers for your Mac and HP laptops from the HP Support website.
Kindly find the next set of steps in the next post.

Hi @Kayla8015,
Please find the next set of steps below.
4. Check Network Connection
Wi-Fi Connection:
- Ensure your printer and all devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Check the printer’s network settings to confirm it is connected.
Reconfigure Wi-Fi:
- If necessary, reconfigure the printer's Wi-Fi settings through the printer's control panel or HP Smart app.
5. Reset Printer Settings
Factory Reset:
- On the printer’s control panel, navigate to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore > Restore Factory Defaults.
Reconfigure Printer:
- After the reset, reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network and set it up again on your devices using the HP Smart app or printer setup software.
6. Use HP Smart App
- HP Smart App:
- Make sure you have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed on all your devices.
- Add your printer to the app and try printing a document or photo directly from the app.
