@Deepak205, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand how frustrating it can be when a brand-new printer doesn't work as expected. Since you've already gone through the setup and tried the troubleshooting steps from the HP website, let's walk through a few key checks and advanced steps to help resolve the issue.
Basic Hardware Setup Confirmation
- Let’s first ensure the printer was set up correctly:
- Confirm that the power cable is securely connected to the back of the printer and wall socket.
- Press the Power button – do you see any lights or hear any sounds?
- Try using a different power outlet directly (avoid surge protectors for now).
- Remove and reinsert the power cable and USB cable (if connected to a PC).
Check for Error Lights
- Observe the printer’s control panel – are any of the LED indicators blinking?
Cartridge Setup:
- Make sure you’ve installed the original HP Setup cartridges that came with the printer. These are required for the initial setup.
- If you see a “Use Setup Cartridges” error.
Paper and Cartridge Alignment:
- Load plain paper into the tray and ensure cartridges are properly seated.
- The printer should automatically print an alignment page. If not, try printing a test page from the HP Smart app.
HP Smart App Setup:
- Download the HP Smart App and try setting up the printer through it.
- The app can also run diagnostics and help with firmware updates.
Reinstall the HP Smart App & Drivers
If the printer powers on but does not respond when printing:
Remove the printer from Devices and Printers on your PC.
Download and reinstall the full software and drivers: Official HP® Support
USB Connection Tips
- Make sure the USB cable is connected directly to a USB 2.0 port on your PC (avoid hubs or docking stations).
- Try using a different USB cable if available.
Print a Self-Test Page (No PC Needed)
To rule out a hardware issue:
- Turn on the printer.
- Press and hold the Cancel (X) + Start Copy Black buttons together for 5 seconds.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
