Hi @rwsullivan1,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
If your HP ENVY 6055e All-in-One Printer seems fine but won’t print when requested from your Mac running macOS 14.0 Sonoma, here are the steps to help you get things working again.
Step-by-Step Fix: Printer Not Responding to Print Commands
1. Check Printer Status
- Make sure the printer is powered on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Mac.
- Check the HP Smart app or System Settings > Printers & Scanners to confirm the printer is online.
2. Restart Everything
- Restart your Mac, printer, and Wi-Fi router.
- This clears temporary communication issues.
3. Reset the Printing System (macOS)
This refreshes all printer connections and drivers.
- Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners
- Right-click (or Control-click) in the printer list and choose “Reset printing system”
- Re-add your HP ENVY 6055e using the “+” button
4. Use HP App to Reconnect
- Download or open the HP App from the Mac App Store
- Add your printer again and run Diagnose & Fix from the app
