HI @MALOY1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing intermittent printing issues in your network setup, where sometimes printing works from one computer but not from others. This can be frustrating, but there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

1. Check Network Connection

Verify Network Connectivity: Ensure that all computers and the printer are properly connected to the network. Check for any network outages or disruptions that could affect printing.

Restart Network Devices: Power cycle your router, switch (if applicable), and the printer. Sometimes, restarting these devices can resolve temporary network issues.

2. Verify Printer Status

Printer Status: Check the printer's control panel or web interface for any error messages or alerts. Resolve any issues indicated by the printer (e.g., low toner, paper jam, offline status).

Printer Drivers: Ensure that the correct printer drivers are installed on each computer. Outdated or incompatible drivers can cause printing problems.

3. Check Print Queue and Jobs

Clear Print Queue: Sometimes, print jobs can get stuck in the print queue, preventing new jobs from printing. Clear the print queue on the affected computer(s).

Restart Print Spooler: On Windows, you can restart the Print Spooler service:

  • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Locate the "Print Spooler" service, right-click on it, and select "Restart".

4. Firewall and Security Software

Firewall Settings: Check firewall settings on each computer and ensure that they are not blocking communication with the printer.

Antivirus Software: Temporarily disable antivirus software to see if it is interfering with printing. If so, adjust settings to allow printer communication.

5. Update Firmware and Software

Printer Firmware: Ensure that the printer has the latest firmware installed. Visit the HP website to download and install any available updates.

Driver Updates: Keep printer drivers updated on all computers to ensure compatibility and stability.

6. Test with Different Applications

  • Application-Specific Issues: If printing fails from one application but not others, it could indicate software-specific issues. Test printing from different applications to isolate the problem.

7. Check for IP Address Conflicts

  • IP Address Conflict: Ensure that the printer and all computers have unique IP addresses on the network. IP conflicts can disrupt communication.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
