I’m posting this again because it was unresolved as of today from May 2020!!!! 😡

“The following cartridges are not intended for use in this printer”.

Printer says 950 for Black and 951 for the other colors.  I purchased cartridges from HP website using my serial number.  Verified that they were the correct 950/951.  Now when I install them, they’re not valid.  I’ve restarted several times but doesn’t help.   I decided to try another cartridge I had and that didn’t work either!

The cartridges that came with the printer had no Z number.  We purchased ink directly from HP’s website twice.  The first time we received Z20 cartridges and those worked.  These recent cartridges were Z10 an they don’t work.

We bought the printer new from BestBuy in 2013.  I noticed that the Z10 is for “use in the US” and the Z20 cartridge says “use in Europe, Russia...”.  I’m confused why the Z20 would work in a printer that was purchased in the US and the ink was all purchased from HP.  Thanks for your assistance.  I can’t wait to resolve this so I can use my printer again!  Also, it’s registered in the USA and under country on the printer itself, it has USA selected!

I have a screenshot where it says “Supported Cartridges... Z20”

also, the weirdest part is that the cyan z10 cartridge works 🤔

@Want-an-answer, Welcome to HP Support Community!

We need to perform a regional reset on the printer to resolve this issue.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
