@Rhonda92, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're having trouble getting your HP printer to work. Let's go through a few steps to help you get it up and running:
Check Printer Connections
- For USB printers: Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and your computer.
- For wireless printers: Make sure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer. You can check this on the printer's control panel under Network Settings.
Restart Devices
- Turn off your printer and computer.
- Unplug the printer from the power source for 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn everything on again.
Reinstall Printer Drivers
Sometimes reinstalling the drivers can resolve connection or functionality issues:
- Go to HP Software and Driver Downloads.
- Enter your printer model.
- Download and install the latest drivers for your operating system.
Set Printer as Default
- On Windows: Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners, click your printer, and select Set as default.
- On macOS: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and click Default printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
