Hi @Time13 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP Officejet Pro 8100 ePrinter is not printing even after replacing the cartridges, here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot the issue:

Check Cartridge Installation:

  • Ensure that the cartridges are properly installed. Open the printer cover and verify that each cartridge is securely in place.

Check Cartridge Compatibility:

  • Make sure that the cartridges you installed are compatible with the HP Officejet Pro 8100. Using incompatible cartridges can prevent the printer from printing.

Inspect Cartridge Status:

  • Check the ink levels on the printer’s control panel or through the printer software on your computer. Ensure that the cartridges have sufficient ink to print.

Clean Cartridge Contacts:

  • Sometimes, the electrical contacts on the cartridges or inside the printer can get dirty or covered with ink residue. Turn off the printer, remove the cartridges, and gently wipe the contacts with a lint-free cloth or cotton swab lightly moistened with distilled water. Allow them to dry completely before reinstalling.

Restart the Printer:

  • Power cycle the printer by turning it off, unplugging it from the power source, waiting for about 60 seconds, and then plugging it back in and turning it on. This can reset the printer and clear temporary errors.

Check for Firmware Updates: Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve printing issues. You can check for updates using the printer’s control panel or through HP’s official website.

Run Print Quality Diagnostic Tools:

  • Most printers, including the HP Officejet Pro 8100, have built-in diagnostic tools that can help identify and resolve print quality issues. Use these tools to print a diagnostic page or perform a print head cleaning cycle if available.

Check Print Queue and Connection:

  • Ensure that there are no print jobs stuck in the print queue. Also, verify that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network and that there are no connectivity issues.

Reset the Printer:

  • As a last resort, you can try resetting the printer to its factory defaults. This will erase any custom settings and configurations, so use this option only if other methods have failed.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
