Printer is returning blank paper. Ink levels are OK. New color cartridge. Diagnostics dis not yield any adverse results.  Even test pages and alignment pages are not printing. Whenever tried to print only blank paper is coming out wihtout even a mark of ink.

Remove the black cartridge & try printing.

Hi Dean, Thank you for your suggestion. I removed black catridge and tried to print a color document expecting it to print in color. But, it printed black. Earlier, it was not  printing at all. I tried all the methods of the document you posted even before posting this message. I don't understand why a color cartridge prints in black for a color doucument.

The printer is mixing the 3 colors to create black.

Based on your results you most likely have a bad black cartridge.

Thank you Dean for your effort and time.

Purchased a  black cartrige. Printing is OK now. But I had to use my laptop.

It is printing black for color also from my desktop.

'Set preferences' for printing could not be opened due to window popping up with this message
Function address 0x74a1cae2 caused a protection fault (exception code 0xe06d7363)
The application property sheet page(s) may not function properly.

Have you tried to reinstall the HP software?

I uninstalled and re-installed. There is no improvement. When tried to check the printing preferences, the message as given pops up.
