Hi @Mel5551,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP printer is showing a message like "Cannot print. Visit website for more details," it typically indicates a technical issue or specific action needed. Here's how you can resolve this.

Restart Your Printer

  1. Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Wait for 60 seconds.
  3. Plug it back in and turn it on.

Check for Error Codes or Messages

  • Look for any specific error code or message displayed on the printer screen. This can provide more details about the issue.

Check the Ink/Toner and Paper

  1. Ensure there’s enough paper in the tray and that it’s properly aligned.
  2. Check ink or toner levels. Replace any empty or faulty cartridges.

Verify Printer Connection

  1. If it's a wireless printer, check that it's connected to your Wi-Fi network.
    • Reconnect to Wi-Fi if needed through the printer’s settings.
  2. For USB-connected printers, ensure the cable is secure.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool:
    1. Visit the HP Support page and search for the tool.
    2. Follow the on-screen instructions to diagnose and fix printer issues.

Check Printer Drivers

  • Ensure your printer drivers are up to date:
    1. Go to the HP Drivers and Software page.
    2. Enter your printer model.
    3. Download and install the latest drivers.

Check HP Instant Ink or Subscription

  • If you're using HP Instant Ink or a subscription plan, ensure your account is active, and the printer is connected to the internet to sync with HP's servers.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
