HP Photosmart premium c309g
Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan

Have a HP photosmart premium c309.  Tried to have printer clean the cartridges.  It stated it was doing that but never finished the job.  I had to shut computer off.  Turned it back on, now printer states it is printing or copying and nothing is happening.  Tried shutting off, disconnecting cords, unplugging several times.  No change.  Wi fi and bluetooth lights are both on.  Tried giving commands directly on printer and nothing happening ie.  test pages nor copying.

A warm welcome to HP Community!

Power resetting the printer and cleaning the cartridge electrical contacts may resolve the issue. Lets try these steps:

1) Make sure this printer is plugged into a direct wall, not a surge protector

2) Remove all of your ink cartridges from the printer and close the door

3) Remove the power cord from the back of the printer (Do no press the power button)

4) Clean the electrical contacts, refer to step 6 from this document.

5) Plug the power cord back into the printer

6) Wait for the printer to turn on completely, then install the ink cartridges.
