HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Printer - N911a

HP 8600 Printer.  I had a paper jam and removed the paper from the front as that was where the jam was.  I then got an error message saying that one or more cartridges were bad.  I replaced all the cartridges and I am still getting the same error message.

@Diane8600, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Cartridge Errors on HP 8600 Printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP 8600 printer is showing an error that one or more cartridges are bad even after replacing them, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue:

Steps to Resolve Cartridge Errors

Check Cartridge Installation:

  • Ensure that all cartridges are properly installed. Remove each cartridge and reinsert it, making sure it clicks into place.

Inspect the Cartridges:

  • Examine the cartridges for any protective packaging that might still be attached. Make sure all protective tape has been removed.
  • Check the cartridges for any visible damage.

Clean the Cartridge Contacts:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Remove the cartridges and gently wipe the electrical contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer with a lint-free cloth.
  • Re-insert the cartridges and turn the printer back on.

Perform a Printer Reset:

  • Unplug the printer from the power source while it is on.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
