Hi @Brainey8426,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating it is when your HP printer suddenly goes into pause mode and refuses to cooperate, especially when you're trying to print something important from your MacBook Pro running macOS Ventura 13.0. Let’s walk through the steps to get your printer back online and printing smoothly.

Fix: HP Printer Stuck on Pause (macOS Ventura)

1. Resume the Printer from System Settings

  1. Click the Apple menuSystem Settings.
  2. Go to Printers & Scanners.
  3. Select your HP printer from the list.
  4. If it says “Paused”, click Resume.

2. Clear the Print Queue

  1. Open System SettingsPrinters & Scanners.
  2. Click your printer → Click Open Print Queue.
  3. Right-click or Control-click any stuck job → Select Delete.
  4. Then click Resume Printer.

3. Reset the Printing System (if needed)

⚠️ This will remove all printers and scanners from your Mac and reset settings.

  1. Go to System SettingsPrinters & Scanners.
  2. Right-click (or Control-click) in the printer list → Select Reset Printing System.
  3. Re-add your HP printer by clicking Add Printer.

4. Reinstall HP Printer Drivers

Download the latest drivers for your printer from HP’s official site:
