My printer keeps giving the paper jam error E4 but there is no jam. This is after it began rejecting my HP cartridges even though they are new HP cartridges ordered on Amazon. I tried talking to support: one hung up, and the other couldn't understand me. Anyone have suggestions on how I can get this fixed? I canceled my HP Ink, is this why nothing is working? HP Ink feels like a scam.

@KAMills, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
If your HP ENVY 6452e printer is displaying an E4 paper jam error but you cannot find any paper jammed inside, here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Clear Jammed Paper from the Printer
Automatically Clear the Jam:
- Press the Cancel button on the printer control panel to automatically clear any false paper jams.
Manually Clear Jammed Paper:
- Open the ink cartridge access door and wait for the carriage to stop moving.
- Disconnect the power cord while the printer is turned on to avoid electric shock.
- Check for any paper in the ink cartridge access area, paper path cover, and duplex rollers and remove it if found.
2. Reset the Printer
- Turn off the printer, unplug the power cord from the printer and power source.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord directly to a wall outlet and turn on the printer.
3. Inspect and Reinsert the Cartridges
- Remove and reinsert the ink cartridges to ensure they are properly seated inside the printer.
- Check the cartridges for any protective tape that may not have been removed and ensure they are genuine HP cartridges compatible with your printer.
- Clean the cartridge contacts with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water.
4. Update Printer Firmware
- Ensure your printer firmware is up-to-date by checking for updates through the HP Smart app or the HP support website.
Also, I suggest you refer to this guide for further troubleshooting steps: HP DeskJet, ENVY 6000, 6400 printers - E4 (Paper jam) error | HP® Support
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
