The App tells me, my paper is nearly empty but is full of paper. I cleaned the paperwheels and organized the paper but it doesn't work. Sorry for my English, I'm from Germany.

Hi @Nora95,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP printer is incorrectly reporting that paper is nearly empty when it's actually full, here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.

  • Check Paper Loading: Make sure the paper is loaded correctly in the paper tray. Ensure that the stack is aligned properly and not exceeding the tray's capacity.
  • Paper Sensor Inspection: Check for any debris or obstruction near the paper tray that could be triggering the paper sensor incorrectly.
  • Reset Printer: Power off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 1-2 minutes, and then plug it back in. Power it on and see if the issue persists.
  • Update Firmware: Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, firmware updates fix bugs related to paper detection.
  • Paper Type and Condition: Ensure you are using the correct type and size of paper recommended for your printer. Also, check that the paper is not damaged or curled, which could affect how it feeds into the printer.
  • Clean Paper Feed Rollers: Since you've already cleaned the paper wheels (feed rollers), ensure they are completely clean. Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water (distilled) to clean them, ensuring no residue remains.
  • Reset Printer Preferences: In the printer settings on your computer or through the printer's control panel, reset any paper settings to default. Sometimes, settings can cause the printer to misinterpret paper levels.

By systematically checking these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the issue of your HP printer incorrectly reporting low paper levels.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
