I have a problem with my HP Deskjet 2720 printer. While the printer status on my Mac shows green (ready to print) when I try to print a document nothing at all is printed. I have run the Clean/Align Printhead routines several times and the printer does print some of the content in the test prints produced at the end of these routines, however only in blue. Yet when I try to print a document it does not print even this!

 

Coloured ink shows almost full and while black is shown is low, printer status indicates there is sufficient black ink to print.

I have given both print cartridges a good shake and ensured they are properly installed in the printer.

I have no network/connectivity issues with the printer or scanner.

 

I am not sure if this is an indication the printer is faulty, if it is I do not to buy more ink, especially when print status indicates levels are still sufficient to print.

 

Grateful for any suggestions?
