HP Deskjet4155 (Edited) change empty black ink cartridge would not communicate, faulty. Removed cartridge. turned off printer and unplugged from wall outlet and back of printer.  Rebooted computer. 2 or 3 times.

Sent faulty cartridge back. HP sent a new black cartridge. Carefully loaded 2nd new cartridge. Same thing. Prints half the page and stops. 2 or 3 loud bangs and stops. orange light by paper symbol flashes, press that, the paper comes out half printed.

I have checked to make sure there i no foreign object where the paper is loaded. I have had no problems with this computer until I was sent a cartridge, from you, that I believe was defective. Now even after you sent me a replacement the damage maybe already done from your cartridge.

Hi @Tihssintkcuf

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like your HP DeskJet 4155 is experiencing a mechanical issue, possibly related to the paper feed or internal components.

Here are some steps you can try to address the problem:

Inspect the Paper Path:

  • Double-check the paper path for any small debris or obstructions that might not be immediately visible.
  • Ensure the paper is loaded correctly and not bent or curled.

Clean the Rollers:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Open the printer and locate the paper rollers. Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to clean them.
  • Let the rollers dry completely before turning the printer back on.

Reset the Printer:

  • Unplug the printer while it's turned on.
  • Wait for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can help clear any residual errors.

Check Cartridge Installation:

  • Remove the black cartridge and inspect it for any damage or leaks.
  • Reinsert the cartridge firmly, ensuring it clicks into place.

Update Firmware:

  • Visit the HP Support website to check for any firmware updates for your printer. Outdated firmware can sometimes cause printing issues.

Run a Diagnostic Test:

  • Use the printer's control panel or the HP Smart app to run a diagnostic test. This can help identify the root cause of the problem.
