Hi @MelT2,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP ENVY 6020e All-in-One Printer is feeding photo paper through without printing, despite no error messages and replaced ink cartridges, try the following troubleshooting steps.
Check Paper Type Settings
- Ensure that the correct paper type is selected in the print settings:
- When printing photos, make sure you have chosen "Photo Paper" in the printer settings or the print dialog box.
- Set the correct size for the photo paper.
Update Printer Drivers
- Outdated or corrupted drivers can cause printing issues.
- On Windows: Go to the Device Manager > Printers, locate your HP printer, right-click, and select "Update driver."
- On macOS: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, then select your printer and choose "Update."
Run Printhead Cleaning
- Even if the ink cartridges are new, dried or clogged printheads can affect printing.
- Open the HP Smart app or printer settings on your computer, go to the maintenance section, and run the "Clean Printhead" tool.
Check for Firmware Updates
- Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer via the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP website.
Test with Plain Paper
- Try printing a photo on regular plain paper to see if it prints. If it works, the issue may be with the photo paper feeding mechanism or settings.
Reset the Printer
- Unplug the printer from the power source for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be helpful to perform a factory reset on your printer or reinstall the HP Smart app to ensure no settings have been misconfigured.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
