@Shelley601, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
It seems you're experiencing a paper jam error with your HP Tango printer even though there is no paper visibly jammed. Here is a step-by-step guide to help troubleshoot and resolve this issue:
Step 1: Clear Jammed Paper from Multiple Areas
Paper jams can occur in various sections of the printer. It's essential to check all possible areas to ensure there are no hidden obstructions:
Clear Jammed Paper from the Input Tray Area:
- Remove all paper from the input tray: Gently pull out any paper that may be stuck.

- Inspect the input tray: Use a flashlight to check for any foreign objects in the paper path.
- Check the stack of paper: Remove any torn, wrinkled, or severely bent pieces from the stack.
- Reload the input tray: Load no more than 50 sheets of paper, 5 envelopes, or 20 cards.
- On the HP Smart app: Click OK to clear the notification.
- On the printer control panel: Touch the Cancel button.

Clear Jammed Paper from the Output Tray:
- Gently pull out any jammed paper from the output tray.

- On the HP Smart app: Click OK to clear the error.
- On the printer control panel: Touch the Cancel button.

Clear Jammed Paper from the Ink Cartridge Access Area:
- On the printer control panel: Touch the Cancel button to attempt clearing the jam automatically.

- Open the ink cartridge access door: Press down on the ink door button and lift the door until it stays in place.

- Inspect the ink cartridge access area: Look for and remove any jammed or torn paper inside.

If you've checked all areas and still experience the paper jam error, proceed to the next steps.
Step 2: Reset the Printer
Sometimes, resetting the printer can clear a false paper jam error:
- Turn off the printer: Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power source.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord: Plug it directly into a wall outlet.
HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.
On the HP Smart app notification page, click OK to clear the error, and then attempt printing again.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
