HP ENVY 6055e All-in-One Printer

HP ENVY 6055e won't print until I push the Green Arrow that lights up.

After I try to print a document it won't print until I walk over to the printer and hit the Green arrow that lights up on the printer. This happens when printing a document via a direct connection to my computer, or if I try and send a print job remotely from my Android phone. I can submit the print but it won't print until I push the light green arrow that appears on the front of my printer.

Hi @Sandmorcat,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I see you have an issue with the document printing. May I know if are you using windows or a Mac computer?

Here's a step-by-step approach to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue:

Check for Errors or Warnings: Start by checking the printer's display panel for any error messages or warnings that could be causing the printer to pause. The green arrow might be indicating a prompt or confirmation is needed due to an error or a specific setting.

Review Printer Settings: Access the printer settings through the HP printer software on your computer or the HP Smart app on your phone. Look for any settings that might require manual confirmation before printing, such as a "Print Confirmation" setting or a "Manual Feed" setting, and adjust them accordingly.

Update Printer Firmware: Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. HP frequently releases firmware updates that can resolve bugs and improve performance. You can update the firmware through the HP Smart app or the HP printer software on your computer.Click Here

Check Printer Drivers: Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your printer. Outdated or incorrect drivers can cause various printing issues. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website. After updating, restart your computer and printer to ensure changes take effect.

Inspect Print Queue Settings: Sometimes, the issue might be related to the print queue settings on your computer. Go to the "Printers & Scanners" settings on your computer, select your printer, and then click on "Manage" or "Printer Properties." Look for any settings that might require manual intervention and adjust them.

Reset the Printer: If none of the above steps work, try resetting your printer to its factory defaults. This can help clear any settings that might be causing the issue. Be aware that this will remove all current settings, so you'll need to set up your printer again.

1. Disconnect the power cord from the router.

2. Turn off the printer.

3. Turn off the mobile device/PC.

4. Reconnect the power cord to the router, then wait for the Internet activity light to display a normal connected status.

5. Turn on the printer.

6. Turn on the mobile device/PC.

Once done,
Could you please try these steps to connect the printer to the network (in case of dual-band routers, please use the 2.4 Ghz wireless connection for the printer):

1.) Remove HP Smart App from your mobile device (if already installed).

2.) Press the Wireless button and the Cancel button from the printer control panel at the same time, and then hold them for three seconds.

3.) Download and install HP Smart App on your mobile device from the app store.

4.) Open HP Smart App and follow the onscreen instructions on the screen to connect the printer to a wireless network.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
