Hi @Thomas8033,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for contacting HP regarding your HP DeskJet 4158e All-in-One Printer. We understand your printer won’t stop printing, and we’re here to assist you with a clear, step-by-step resolution.

Step 1: Cancel the Print Queue

  1. Press Windows + R, type Control Printers, and press Enter.
  2. Right-click your HP DeskJet 4158e > See what’s printing
  3. Click Printer in the menu > Cancel All Documents

If the queue doesn’t clear, continue to Step 2.

Step 2: Restart Print Spooler Service

  1. Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  2. Scroll to Print Spooler, right-click, and choose Stop
  3. Open File Explorer and go to:
    C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
(You may be prompted for admin rights)
  4. Delete all files in this folder
  5. Return to Services, right-click Print Spooler, and choose Start

Step 3: Power Cycle the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from the back
  2. Wait 60 seconds
  3. Plug it back in and power on

This resets the printer memory and clears any stuck tasks.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
