Hi @Thomas8033,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thank you for contacting HP regarding your HP DeskJet 4158e All-in-One Printer. We understand your printer won’t stop printing, and we’re here to assist you with a clear, step-by-step resolution.
Step 1: Cancel the Print Queue
- Press Windows + R, type Control Printers, and press Enter.
- Right-click your HP DeskJet 4158e > See what’s printing
- Click Printer in the menu > Cancel All Documents
If the queue doesn’t clear, continue to Step 2.
Step 2: Restart Print Spooler Service
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Scroll to Print Spooler, right-click, and choose Stop
- Open File Explorer and go to:
C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
(You may be prompted for admin rights) - Delete all files in this folder
- Return to Services, right-click Print Spooler, and choose Start
Step 3: Power Cycle the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from the back
- Wait 60 seconds
- Plug it back in and power on
This resets the printer memory and clears any stuck tasks.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
