Hi @Stuff007,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When the envelope and droplet symbols are flashing on your HP DeskJet 2720 All-in-One Printer, it usually indicates an issue with the ink system or paper jam. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Open the printer's paper tray and check for any jammed paper. Remove any paper if found.
  • Check inside the printer for any small pieces of paper that might be stuck.

Check the Ink Cartridges:

  • Open the ink cartridge access door and ensure the cartridges are installed correctly. Remove them and then reinstall them to make sure they are seated properly.
  • Check if the ink cartridges have any protective tape still on them. If so, remove it.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Inspect the Ink Cartridge Contacts:

  • Check the contacts on both the ink cartridges and inside the printer for any ink build-up or dirt. Gently clean them with a lint-free cloth if necessary.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or HP's website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
