After putting in new black cartridge...still getting this message...

 

Printer message

one or more cartridges are missing or damaged”. “Until cartridges are replaced make sure printer is turned on to avoid damage to printer”

First you can try is update your printer firmware 

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/oj6950/1910a/OJ6950_1910A.exe

 

also you can try to perform next steps to try to solve the issue
