Hi @Raju571,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When your HP Officejet Pro 6960 is displaying an error message while trying to print, there could be several reasons behind it. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.
- Check for Paper Jams: Open the printer's access door and look for any jammed paper. If you find any, carefully remove it, ensuring not to tear the paper.
- Check Ink or Toner Levels: Make sure that the ink or toner cartridges have enough ink/toner to complete the printing job. Replace any low or empty cartridges.
- Restart Printer: Sometimes, simply restarting the printer can resolve temporary issues. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Update Printer Driver: Ensure that you have the latest printer driver installed on your computer. You can download the latest driver from the HP website.
- Clear Print Queue: If there are any stuck print jobs in the print queue, clearing them might resolve the error. Open the print queue on your computer and cancel any pending print jobs.
- Reset Printer: Try resetting the printer to its factory defaults. This can often resolve various issues. Refer to the printer's user manual for instructions on how to perform a reset.
- Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can usually update the firmware through the printer's control panel or via the HP website.
- Inspect for Hardware Issues: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, there might be a hardware problem with the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
