Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand everything works on your HP DeskJet Plus 4100 but you're unable to check or change settings, it could be due to software or connectivity issues. Here's how you can troubleshoot:

2. Confirm Connection
- Make sure the printer is properly connected to the network:
- WiFi Connection: Check that the printer is connected to the same WiFi network as your PC.
- If the printer shows as offline in the app, reconnect it to the network via the printer's control panel or use the WiFi Protected Setup (WPS) method.
- Restart your router, computer, and printer.
3. Clear and Reinstall the App

- Restart the PC.
- Download and install the app from the HP printer setup (HP Smart app)
4. Use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) Use the HP printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)
- Access the printer’s settings through the Embedded Web Server (EWS):
- Print a Network Configuration Report from the printer's control panel to find its IP address.
- Enter the IP address into your browser’s address bar.
- From the EWS, you can view and change many printer settings.
5. Check for Permissions Issues
- Run HP Print and Scan Doctor: HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor.
- Follow the steps to identify and fix any permission or software issues.
6. Test from Another Device
- Try accessing and changing settings using another device with the HP Smart app to check if the issue is specific to your PC.
