Hi @mhilinski731,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Check Printer Status

  • Make sure the printer is turned on and has no error messages on the display.
  • Ensure there is paper in the tray and enough ink in the cartridges.

Check Connection

  • If using Wi-Fi, make sure the printer and computer are on the same network.
  • If using USB, try a different USB port or cable.

Set Printer as Default

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click your HP OfficeJet 5258 and select Set as Default Printer.

Restart Devices

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it for 1-2 minutes.
  • Restart your computer and Wi-Fi router.
  • Turn the printer back on and try printing again.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download HP Print and Scan Doctor from the HP website.
  • Open it and follow the on-screen instructions to fix printer issues.

Update Printer Drivers

  • Go to HP Support and download the latest drivers for your printer.
  • Install the updates and restart your computer.

Clear Print Queue

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click your printer and select See what’s printing.
  • Click Printer > Cancel All Documents, then try printing again.

If the issue persists, let me know! 😊
