Hi @GaryS43, Welcome to HP Support Community!

We noticed that this thread hasn't had any updates in a while since your original post; while this is rare, we didn't want this post to remain unanswered, so, here's the solution to your query. We hope it helps you and everyone viewing this post 😊

If your HP printer is showing 92 copies unexpectedly, it’s likely due to a stuck print job or incorrect settings in the print queue. Here are some steps to help you resolve this:

Cancel All Print Jobs

  • On the printer’s control panel, press Cancel or Stop to halt any ongoing print jobs.
  • On your computer:
    • Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers
    • Right-click your HP printer > See what’s printing
    • In the print queue window, click Printer > Cancel All Documents

Check Default Copy Settings

Some HP printers allow you to set a default number of copies. To check:

  • On the printer’s touchscreen (if available), go to Copy > Settings
  • Look for Number of Copies and set it back to 1
  • Press Save/OK

Restart the Printer

  • Power off the printer completely
  • Unplug it from the wall for 30 seconds
  • Plug it back in and power it on

Check Printer Driver Settings

  • When printing from an app (Word, PDF viewer, etc.), make sure the Copies setting is set to 1
  • You can also reset the printer driver:
    • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers
    • Right-click your printer > Remove device
    • Reinstall the printer using HP Smart or HP Easy Start

Update Firmware (Optional but Recommended)

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved, and if you feel this reply was helpful, click “Yes”.
